the algorithm for solving the inverse numerical range problem

Due to the large number of chemical species and the three space dimensions, o -the-shelf sti ODE integrators are not feasible for the numerical time integration of sti systems of advection-diffusion-reaction equations @c @t +r (uc) = r (Kr c) +R (c) ; c = c(x; t); c 2 IRm; x 2 IR3 from the eld of air pollution modelling. This has led to the use of special time integration techniques. This paper...
متن کاملOn optimal solution of an inverse air pollution problem: Theory and numerical approach
A three-dimensional dispersion air pollution model with point sources is considered in a limited region. The adjoint model and the duality principle are used to pose a variational short-term control problem with the aim of determining optimal emission rates of the sources. The existence and uniqueness of the optimal control problem solution are proved. A numerical scheme using a process of orth...
متن کاملImplementation of a MODIS Aerosol Algorithm for Air Pollution Detection
Air pollution has several negative consequences to life. The Continuous Air Monitoring Stations (CAMS) can calculate the levels of this contamination, but their range is too small. An alternative for the detection of the pollution is the use of satellites. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), instrument on board of the satellite Terra and Aqua from the NASA, allows the cal...
متن کاملA numerical algorithm for solving a class of matrix equations
In this paper, we present a numerical algorithm for solving matrix equations $(A otimes B)X = F$ by extending the well-known Gaussian elimination for $Ax = b$. The proposed algorithm has a high computational efficiency. Two numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
